I purchased a download of Photoshop CS5 from Adobe around 2012 and I would like to transfer to my new PC (old and new PCs are Windows 10). I need the serial number but I can't find it. I have tried (1) my Adobe account which does not have this product registered, (2) the 'System info' of the application which only provides the first 20 digits, (3) Belarc advisor key finder which does not provide any serial number for my Adobe programs, (4) Adobe customer support which puts me directly into these forums where all the answers I see so far are things I have already tried and failed (see 1, 2, 3).Please help! Thank you very much. I purchased a download of Photoshop CS5 from Adobe around 2012 and I would like to transfer to my new PC (old and new PCs are Windows 10). Thank you very much. I found the swidtag file exactly as you described. It has a serial number at the bottom that is consistent with all 20 digits provided in the 'system info' window of Photoshop, plus 4 more digits. I thought 'problem solved!'

But when I enter the 24-digit number into my Adobe account, to register an old program, it says '! Enter a valid serial number.'

This is very discouraging. I purchased the software directly as an Adobe download - initially as a free trial and then I paid for a license. I am really surprised how difficult this is and I don't know what to do next. Thanks for your advice in any case. Any more suggestions? All adobe serial numbers consist of 6 groups of 4 numbers = 24 numbers.assuming you're using a valid adobe serial number (6 groups of 4 numbers), you have a mismatch between your installation file and serial number.
Ie, you can have a valid serial number, but if it's for program A and your installation file is for program B, you will see an invalid serial number message.common mismatches are language/region (eg, serial number is for western europe and installation file is eastern europe), platform (eg, serial number is for a mac and installation file is win), license type (eg, education vs enterprise vs individual).and one of the most common is using a program installation file with a suite's serial number. Eg, using a cs6 suite serial number with a photoshop cs6 installation file. That won't work even though photoshop is included in that suite.
You must use the suite's installation file (and you can choose to only install one program from the suite).here's official info about that error.
